Yard waste after monsoon season: what to clear first

Monsoon storms roll through the valley hard and fast, and the cleanup is usually the same list: snapped limbs, a lean in a young tree, and drifts of leaf litter and gravel pushed into corners.

Clear in this order

• Anything blocking a driveway, walkway, or gate.
• Broken limbs still hanging in a tree, which is a job for a tree service, not a hauler.
• Downed branches and brush on the ground.
• Leaf litter, needles, and small debris raked into piles.

Cut brush to a haulable size

Branches cut to roughly four feet load fast and stack tight. A giant tangled pile of full length limbs takes far longer and costs more, so a few minutes with loppers pays off.

Watch the fire risk in your pile

Dry brush sitting against a house or fence through a Verde Valley summer is a real hazard. If you have a pile from last season still leaning on a shed, that is the one to get gone first.

What we take

Branches, leaves, small yard debris, and other manageable green waste go in our trailer. We are a small operation, so we do not take large amounts of rock or dirt, stumps, or heavy demolition material. If you are not sure where your pile lands, send a photo and we will tell you straight.
